New SoHoBlue range
The new SoHoBlue range comprises sophisticated yet easy to use secure internet devices for small and medium sized businesses, complementing the larger NetPilot units which are aimed at bigger organisations and those with SSL VPN requirements. SoHoBlue offers great value for money while offering highest levels of protection.
SoHoBlue models are priced from £499 and come with a full range of UTM features. As standard, all units
are equipped with gigabit Ethernet ports and SSD (Solid State Disks) drives as part of a fan-less design providing extra reliability. Every model has dual processor Intel CPUs and 2 Gigabytes of RAM as minimum - giving plenty of performance. Our engineers were beaming with pride having put them up against competitive products in recent performance tests.
There are three models in the range: SoHoBlue-25, SoHoBlue-50 and SoHoBlue-100 catering for up to 25, 50 and 100 users respectively. As with all NetPilot products, SoHoBlue units keep themselves automatically updated protecting against all the latest network threats.
All models come with a 12 month's UTM subscription which includes: anti-virus, anti-spam, email policy controls, advanced firewall, anti-spyware, software upgrade service and the latest McAfee Smartfilter content filtering. IPSec and OpenVPN VPNs can both be configured. Free OpenVPN clients can be used for remote access. All models are preloaded with v6.1.7 - latest level software.
SoHoBlue units are designed and built in the UK by NIS Ltd. All models can be ordered now and will be shipping next month (July 2012).
New Software
All new NetPilot and SoHoBlue models are now shipping with v6.1.7 which rolls up all the previous 6.1.x releases and provides a number of fixes. Interesting features include support for BT Infinity and KC Lightstream - both of which use PPoE protocols. More IPSec VPN options have also been incorporated to allow better integration with Cisco's various IPSec implementations. Version 6 release notes can be found: here!
In the pipeline is v 6.1.8, which implements the latest 3.2 kernel. This provides performance improvements and other enhancements.
New Addition to UTM Renewal Packs - NBD advanced hardware replacement
From this month, when customers renew their UTM pack subscription - either for Standard or Premium UTM - besides getting all UTM updates and all operating system enhancements, they will now receive a 12 month subscription to our Next Business Day (NBD) hardware advanced replacement service. So both hardware and software are covered together by one subscription! We think this offers great value and is unmatched by any of our competitors.
