Software/Firmware Version v6.1.0 released

Version v6.1.0 is now being shipped with all new NetPilot and SoHoBlue units. A manual upgrade v6.1.1 for those running previous versions will be available for download from www.netpilot.com and www.sohoblue.net in early October.

New features include Web Keyword Filtering and Safesearch Enforcement for Google and Bing. This will considerably enhance the Smartfilter content filter option included with all new NetPilots and SoHoBlue units.

On the VPN front, there are enhancements to the IPSec implementation. This allows advanced profiles to be set - which enhances interoperability with third party devices. CIPE has been end-of-lifed as the OpenVPN features supported by all units are superior, making CIPE redundant. Note well: those running SSL VPN-Plus should not apply the manual upgrade v6.1.1, for more information please refer to the release notes.

Product activation changes have also been made in v6.1.0. Either a valid UTM Pack License or a valid Upgrade License will be required to keep your unit up-to-date with all the latest security patches as well as give you full functionality of new features.

SoHoBlue off to a scorching start
Our summer did not provide warm temperatures, but our hot new product SoHoBlue was launched at the start of summer along with its new website www.SoHoBlue.com and certainly we are very pleased with its warm reception.

SoHoBlue is designed for small business of up to 10 users. Early customers included Gamebird Inns and Coldstar. We have created some new materials for smaller sized businesses including topics such as setting up your very first network - see more!
