How does our SoHoBlue range compare against the competition? A 2017 update.
We have done some competitive comparisons for 25, 50 and 100 user UTM products. We have compared the relevant SoHoBlue product in each of these 3 categories with the appropriate models from Sophos, Dell SonicWall, Watchguard and Fortinet.
Where a manufacturer’s UTM offering does not include all the usual and expected elements as standard on a particular product, we have added those options in to try and make the fairest like-for-like comparisons. We have used the manufacturers’ own claimed throughput figures for “UTM Throughput” graphs.
We have, of course, used our own sophisticated performance test bench to see what our own products can achieve and we have put the competitors through their paces too to see what we make of their claimed performance figures. Interesting to see what other claim and actually attain!
Conclusion!
SoHoBlue models have better price/performance characteristics than any of these competitors. Sophos usually comes in second place, Watchguard third and fourth and fifth places belong to Dell SonicWall and Fortinet. Interesting consistency from all 5 manufacturers!
We have designed and built SoHoBlue to be particularly high performance from both hardware and software perspectives, as we want to ensure our customers can get full value from the available and forthcoming high-speed fibre optic services available in the UK.
These comparisons and practical tests verify that our products do indeed make full use of available high-speed broadband – and some other products do not!
25 User UTM Product Comparisons
Price/Performance
Performance is given with the blue bar, so higher is better. List price is denoted by the red bar so lowest is best (for the customer!).
UTM Throughput
Higher the bar graph – the higher the UTM throughput.
Plainly some products are not suitable for connection to high-speed fibre optic services, while SoHoBlue was designed specifically for that task.
